Frequently Asked Questions
  • Who can participate in this league?: This program is open only to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Parma Middle School students. Non–middle school aged athletes are not eligible to participate. You do not have to attend Parma Middle School to participate, just be of-age.
  • How long is the season and schedule?: Practices start in March. Games start April 4th - May 2nd. 2 games every SATURDAY @ Mesa Park in Fruitland, McCain MS in Payette, or Nyssa HS. Total of 10 games. There will be an optional end of league tournament May 8th-9th.
  • Practices?: Practices will begin the first week in March. All practices will be in Parma at the Parma ball fields behind the elementary. Dates/times will be communicated once the team is finalized.
  • How to communicate?: All communication primarily will go through Team Sidelines. Coaches may also communicate via text messages if necessary.
  • Uniforms?: PARK will provide the players jersey and baseball hat/visor. Players are responsible for: black softball pants, red or black softball( long sports) socks and red or black softball belt.
  • Mandatory Equipment: Gloves: Every player must have a softball glove to participate. Baseball gloves are not suitable, as they are too shallow to properly catch a softball. Fastpitch softball glove sizes typically recommended: Infielders: 11.5–12.5 inches Outfielders: 12–13 inches
  • Mandatory Equipment:Cleats: Every player must wear cleats during games. Rubber cleats are strongly recommended, as some fields and games do not allow metal cleats.
  • Optional Equipment: Face Masks: Protective face masks are not required, but they are strongly recommended, especially for players who play infield positions. Face masks help protect against facial injuries from line drives, pop-ups, and hard-hit balls. They give players added confidence in the field, especially for younger or less experienced athletes.
  • Other optional equipment: Batting Helmet: All players must wear a helmet when batting. Helmets must include a face guard and chin strap. Players may bring their own if they prefer. Bats: Players may bring their own bat. PARK provides bats, but length and quality may vary. Catching Gear: PARK provides catching gear if needed, but players may bring their own personal gear if they prefer.
